The TESDA Regional Training Center I recently conducted a Basic Skills Training in Masonry (leading to Masonry NCII) from December 2-13, 2024. This initiative was not just a training program but rather a powerful step towards change. Aligned with this year’s 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children, this training aimed to uplift and empower women by equipping them with non-traditional skills, showcasing their potential to thrive in any field. On the other hand, it extended a hand to men to express their positive masculinity, fostering an environment where mutual respect and support flourished.
By utilizing supplies and materials efficiently, participants left a meaningful legacy with this activity: the repair of the center’s Language Skills Institute façade and walkway. This training was facilitated by the center’s own civil engineer and prominent trainer in the construction sector – Engr. Karl Juma M. Jacla.
This endeavor stands as a testament to the belief that empowerment knows no gender and that through collaboration and skill-building, we can create a more inclusive community. Together, we are not just building structures, but also building a future where everyone, regardless of gender, can stand tall and proud. (fkma)
