The TESDA-Regional Training Center La Union (RTCLU) and the Provincial Training Center – Pangasinan (PTCPang) supported the conduct of Carpentry NCII Training Program for twenty-five (25) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) currently detained at the BJMP-Alaminos, Pangasinan from June 13-29, 2024. This training is funded by the Office of Congressman Arthur F. Celeste of the 1st District of Pangasinan, and the City Government of Alaminos.
This training is aimed to capacitate the PDLs with knowledge and skills in Carpentry NCII which they can use in finding employment and entrepreneurial opportunities once they are reintegrated with their families and communities. Among the competencies delivered are performing mensuration and basic estimation, fabrication of various woodworks such as wooden cabinet, casket and stairs, and finish painting of woodcrafts.
PTCPang organized the training including the provision of necessary tools, equipment, supplies and materials. Meanwhile, RTCLU provided a trainer – Mr. Marlon P.Rivera, and Competency-Based Learning Materials.
